• Some say size doesn’t matter. But when it comes to locks, it sure does! The Oxford BEAST is so big that there’s a warning label on the packaging: WARNING – HEAVY! The lock alone weighs 3.6 kg, and the chain weighs between 12 kg and 15.5 kg!
• If you have a lock that's a beast, you need a chain that's a beast. The Beast chain wouldn't look out of place on a ship's anchor. It's our biggest and strongest chain yet. The 22mm thick hardened steel links weigh as much as a bag of sugar each. The links are coated with a protective coating to prevent paint damage.
• The Beast padlock, chain and anchor have been awarded the Sold Secure DIAMOND rating, which ensures they can withstand strong and sustained attacks. Achieving a DIAMOND rating is no easy feat. The Beast has been tested against a variety of tools commonly used by thieves, including bolt cutters, drills and, most impressively, a 90-second attack with an angle grinder.
• The Beast has been awarded a 5-star rating by the international security standards organization ART. ART assigns a rating from 1 to 5 (5 being the highest) based on various tests conducted by both machines (tensile strength, torsional strength, cutting, corrosion, dust and freezing) and test engineers (brute force and intelligent attack tests).
