The Tech-Air® 5 is the latest addition to Alpinestars' Tech-Air® series, which includes the Tech-Air® Race and Tech-Air® Street systems.
Alpinestars continues to be a leader in active airbag technology for motorcyclists and their passengers,
and the Tech-Air® 5 is a demonstration of the Alpinestars brand to make the technology more freely available as the best possible choice of "active" protection.

The Tech-Air® 5 is a thin, self-contained air cushion vest that can be worn under any textile or Tech-Air® compatible jacket, as well as any leather jacket with 4cm of space around the rider's chest. Tech-Air® 5 offers unmatched upper body protection, ensuring rider safety through unique coverage of the rider's shoulders, chest, ribs and entire back. Shoulder protection is critical when hitting the road, and riders' shoulders are protected by Tech-Air®, effectively and efficiently minimizing the rider's risk of shoulder and collarbone injuries. Alpinestars Tech-Air® 5 provides the most comprehensive coverage of any airbag currently available.


DESCRIPTION:

• The state-of-the-art Tech-Air® 5 protective vest is equipped with an active electronic system that has six integrated sensors
  (3 gyroscopes and 3 accelerometers) and a collision algorithm that uses artificial intelligence to monitor exactly when to deploy the airbag in the event of a collision.
  Developed as a result of years of research with over 50% of the world's top MotoGP riders and Alpinestars customers, data from millions of kilometers of riding and thousands of crashes is analyzed to continuously improve the intelligent algorithm. When a collision situation is identified, the protective airbag is activated, providing protection to the rider with a maximum inflation time of 20 to 40 ms depending on the volume of the airbag. Absorbing the impact while wearing the airbag results in a reduction in impact force of up to 95% compared to a passive protector. The Tech-Air® 5 system offers the same protection as 18 Level (2) back protectors.

The system is extremely easy to use, just zip up the vest and close the magnetic flap and you're ready to ride. An LED display shows the working status of the airbag, and the built-in certified lithium-ion battery has a life of 30 hours of riding time . The system is equipped with a magnetic micro USB charger that allows quick, easy and convenient recharging.

The Tech-Air® 5 has Bluetooth and the Tech-Air® App , which uses the rider's phone to display system operational status, battery status and detailed ride analysis; System software can also be updated directly through the app.

• The Tech-Air® 5 Protective Vest is designed to be worn under any suitable textile jacket, bearing in mind that the jacket must be large enough to accommodate the expansion of the airbag in the event of a collision. For textile jackets, this requires an additional 4cm. space along the circumference of the body. For those riders who want to wear a sporty leather jacket, the Tech-Air® 5 can also be worn with Tech-Air® compatible leather jackets that have built-in leather expansion panels to accommodate the inflation of the protector vest. Riders wishing to wear a leather jacket that is not Tech-Air® compatible should ensure that the jacket has an additional 4cm of space around the entire chest.
• The Tech-Air® 5 airbag system offers the same protection as that provided by 18 CE level 2 back protectors, as confirmed by SGS, an official CE certification company that provides independent testing of product compliance with European personal protection rules.
• In addition to riders being able to ride with protection during their ride, they can now easily switch to RACE Riding Mode and ride on closed course tracks. The newly released Tech-Air® App allows riders to easily switch between STREET and RACE Riding Modes.
  RACE Riding Mode should ONLY be used for closed race track riding and cannot be used for any other type of riding.
